Yes and no. When I view the memo field text using the project manager's browse button then double clicking on the memo field, it's one long string. When I enter memo field text through a web page then save it and email it using the request.form it's one long string. When I visit a page and view it as placed in a <textarea> from a memo field it's one long string. I have not tried the <PRE> or <BR> but don't you think it should be stored in a memo field as written using REPLACE var1 WITH Request.Form('var2')?

Are you viewing the contents of the memo field in an HTML page? Remember that carriage returns are displayed as spaces, unless you enclose the text in <PRE> tags, or replace carriage returns with <BR> tags.

I have been scratching my head on this for weeks. It seems that when I type text into a textarea box, then store it in a fox memo field, all the text is in one long string. If I were to type in the following:
4sdfsdsdfsd fsdds dfsdf
It is saved in the memo field as:
1fsdfdsfsdfdsf 2sdfsfsdfdsfdsfs 3dsfsdfsdsdfsdf 4sdfsdsdfsd fsdds dfsdf 5dsdsf
Here is the code:
LOCAL CID, CFIRST, CLAST, CEMAIL, CTELE, CNEWSLET, CNOTES
USE data/djm!contact NODATA SHARED IN 0
SET EXACT ON
M.CNOTES = ""
IF Request.FormCount("btnchoice") > 0
M.CNOTES = Request.Form('CNOTES')
REPLACE CNOTES WITH M.CNOTES
<FORM NAME=contact METHOD=post ACTION="contactus.fwx">
<TD CLASS=pbsfields1 ALIGN="Left">
<TD CLASS=pbsfields VALIGN="MIDDLE">
<TEXTAREA name="CNOTES" rows=8 cols=80 WRAP="VIRTUAL" ALIGN="TOP"> <%=(M.CNOTES)%></TEXTAREA>
<TD CLASS=pbsfields1 VALIGN="TOP" ALIGN="left">
<INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT NAME=btnchoice VALUE="Send">
Anyone have an idea why all thetext is concatenated into one long paragraph?
