I agree with your comments. In general FoxWeb is really fast opening tables, but in some cases where you are dealing with extremely large tables and complex index structures you can greatly improve the efficiency of your scripts by disabling the Close Tables option.

I see it's recommended that tables be closed as a program exit function but I'd sure rather not. After writing to a table I'd close it and reopen it again but otherwise I'd like to just leave everything open. It's a big speed difference.
